Our visit to the Touratech USA shop had been a long-awaited treat. On the way home from our wedding in California last October we had hoped to stop in with the bikes to say hello and take a peek around. Our journey home took us much farther East than expected and we had to settle for a rain-check…well rain it did! A very wet drive from Portland to Seattle this past week still managed to leave us sunny on the inside. We are so happy to announce that Touratech has now become an official part of our Trans-world Adventure and Sponsorship family.

What a great shop and an all around fantastic group. Warm and welcoming. We encourage anyone travelling through Seattle to stop in and say hi. N47° 34.037′ W122° 19.373′  - www.touratech-usa.com.

The main living room area was fully equipped with adventure travel dvd’s, maps, books, magazines and product. Everything a moto-travel enthusiast could ask for.

This front desk was designed and handmade by the owner of the well used motorcycle you see below, Mason Huffine. Who after finishing his three year, around the world journey, settled back home in Seattle and found himself wondering what to do next. Owner of Touratech USA, Tom Myers, gave Mason the opportunity to work in the shop and show off his creative wood working and industrial arts skills. The BMW F650GS Dakar in all of its well ridden glory, sits in the middle of the showroom floor for all to appreciate. So cool.

No better way to sum it up than from Mason himself.

Stickers, decals and travel documentation seemed to act as a bandage holding the F650GS Dakar together. The earth remains stained on the bike’s white farings, reminding all who look upon it, that this is a man who literally rode his bike into the ground over and over again and got up over and over again. We could only imagine the things they have experienced together.

Do you see what we see? The black handle from the ahem “Machete” strapped in between the ahem “exhaust” and the right side luggage pannier. Tempting.

Great pictures and write up Nita. The Touratech headquarters would be like motorcycle heaven……

  2. Nita says:

Thanks Blake, it truly is a cool space. If you are travelling through and need to pick up parts for your bike, they would even let you wrench in their warehouse cargo bay if it isn’t too busy that day. They really seem to understand the importance of community building and customer appreciation. :)
