Our Journey

Keeping tabs of our journey can be hard for us – sometimes things that happen on one day can end up belonging to a different one unless we keep it all straight in writing. Putting it all down in our blog is a great way for us to keep the stories straight and for working through the experiences of the day. Western Canada

After our Transamerican trip it just seemed implausable that we’d not do at least one more multiday trip before the snow moved in. So, with a 10 day window, we planned our route from Calgary to Vancouver using the northern Yellowhead Highway west and the southern Crowsnest east.

Transamerican Adventure

After purchasing a used R1200GS in NYC, making an adventure out of bringing it home to Calgary seemed like the natural thing to do. Following a path that took us through the Appalachian mountains, through the south, along the Mississippi, across the loneliest highway and finishing with a northern run through Grand Teton National Park, Yellowstone National Park and Lewis & Clark National Forest we spent the longest allowable time to ride a bike on a temporary permit through the states – and it was awe-inspiring!
