Towards the end of November, Nita and I applied to the Ted Simon Foundation with the hopes of working with them to publish a book at the close of our travels. We’d been planning to submit an application from the first announcement of the foundation as we felt our beliefs and raison d’être were so aligned. Rather than trying to re-interpret the foundation in our words, they share their intentions elegantly:
The Ted Simon Foundation… was created by a group of people who believe that individuals of good will, moving among foreign cultures and making themselves vulnerable to the beliefs and customs of strangers, have great importance in promoting world understanding, and even more so when they can distill the essence of their experiences into a form that can be absorbed by many.
The purpose of the Foundation is to encourage and assist travellers in making an extra effort to develop their observations and insights into something of value for the rest of the world to share, whatever their medium of expression might be.”
In the first week of January we were honored to receive a lovely note from Ted Simon letting us know that we were selected as a Jupiters Companion. As a Companion to the foundation we have the opportunity to share the vision and spirit of the foundation with the folks we meet along our travels and, from time to time, submit stories with the hopes that they’ll share them with their readers.
Thanks again to all the folks at the Ted Simon Foundation for their work and for allowing us to be a small part of it!
UPDATE: In May, 2015, we were honoured to have been accepted as Jupiters Travellers!

You just never know when we may meet up during this journey called life! I will be looking forward to each and ever time our path may happen upon eacc others. May there always be great stories and of course great spirits to share.
